Police: Man punched disabled man

Valparaiso — A 24-year-old man blackened the eyes and bloodied the nose of a partially disabled man who uses a walker and a wheel-chair, police say.

He was charged with misdemeanor battery.

He and a female companion were visiting the victim’s home (where the suspect had been temporarily residing) when the victim pulled the woman aside to talk about the suspect’s infidelity, according to a police report.

When the suspect found out, police say he struck the man in the face.

He said the man “grabbed” the woman by her arm during their conversation and was only punched because he wouldn’t let go.
