Metro police saves disabled man

Three Metro police officers responded quickly to a call to rescue a disabled pensioner from Bonteheuwel of a 26 year old attacker.

According to Metro Police spokesperson Nowellen Petersen, the officers had sped to the scene of where the pensioner John Petersen (60) who is disabled as well was being attacked. The attack took place outside the home of the elderly in Bluegum Street, Bonteheuwel.

“They immediately rushed to the scene, investigated and arrested a 26 year old man who is now in custody at the Bishop Lavis police station. The reason for the attack is not known,” says Petersen.

The victim who is mentally challenged was taken to Groote Schuur Hospital for treatment.
