Police are appealing for information after a disabled man had his mobile phone stolen from him in Warmley.

It happened at about 9.30pm on Monday May 19 2008 in Coronation Road.

The 39-year-old Kingswood man walks with a stick as he suffers from cerebral palsy, epilepsy and partial paralysis of his right side.

He was walking to visit a friend and had stopped to talk on his mobile phone when a young man snatched it from him, then kicked him in the right leg and ran off.

Thankfully the incident did not lead to serious injury for the victim, who was able to remain standing although he was so shaken, shocked and upset he was unable to report the incident to police until the following day.

The thief was described as a young white man, with short dark hair, wearing a T-shirt and shorts.

Anyone who was in the Coronation Road area on Monday night who saw the incident, spotted a young man of this description running along the road, or who has any other information which could help police enquiries is urged to come forward.

Anyone with information can call Staple Hill Police Station on 0845 456 7000 or contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111. Calls to Crimestoppers could lead to a reward.
