A fifth and final suspect was arrested Thursday in connection with a violent sexual assault and robbery of two young mentally disabled men from Santa Rosa in April.

Santa Rosa police did not release the victims’ names because of their mental disabilities and the sexual assault but said they are 19 and 21 years old.

The two men, friends from a support group, were attacked by a group of six men while walking near the Fulton Skatepark at 1 a.m. on April 26.

The men were kidnapped, beaten, robbed and forced to perform sex acts with each other, said Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Lisa Banayat. In the attack, they were punched, kicked, urinated on and threatened with further violence, she said.

“It’s always extra sad when it’s people who don’t have the mental capacity to defend themselves,” Banayat said.

Santa Rosa police arrested Fredrick Caddell Jr., 19, of Santa Rosa, the last remaining suspect in the case.

Four other suspects — Pierre Jacques Guidry, 18; Mark Anthony Echemendia, 18; Reid Rogers, 18; and Bryan Stanley, 21, all of Santa Rosa — were arrested between April 26 and June 2.

All the suspects were arrested on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.

Police have also charged Guidry, Echemendia, Rogers and Caddell with sexual assault, Rogers and Caddell with witness intimidation and Stanley with burglary.

Guidry, Echemendia, Rogers and Caddell are expected to appear in court today. Stanley’s appearance is scheduled for June 25.

A sixth man whom police were investigating in the attack died May 30 before an arrest could be made. The cause of his death has not been determined, but there is no criminal investigation, officials said.
